Preview Roundups
January 16, 2019
Colorado at Ottawa 7:00 PM ET
The Ottawa Senators are buried in last place in the Eastern Conference but could be getting a pair of key pieces back in the lineup for Wednesday night's game against the visiting Colorado Avalanche. All-Star defenseman Thomas Chabot and center Matt Duchene are expected to play for Ottawa, which will try to end a string of five consecutive losses at home.
Boston at Philadelphia 7:30 PM ET
The Boston Bruins have experienced a bit of turbulence after winning five straight, taking some stiff shots from upper-echelon members of the Eastern Conference en route to losing two of their last three. The Bruins will look to return to their winning ways on Wednesday when they visit the team residing one point out of the conference's cellar: the Philadelphia Flyers.
Buffalo at Calgary 9:30 PM ET
The Calgary Flames are atop the Pacific Divsion and have matched their longest winning streak of the season as they prepare to resume a five-game homestand against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night. Calgary has won five in a row overall, outscoring its opponents 25-12 in that span, and owns an eight-game point streak at home (7-0-1) against the Sabres.
Edmonton at Vancouver 10:00 PM ET
The top-heavy Edmonton Oilers received significant contributions from a pair of unlikely sources to enjoy one of their most lopsided wins of the season. Fueled by a rash of secondary scoring, the Oilers bid to record back-to-back victories for the first time in over five weeks when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday.
San Jose at Arizona 10:00 PM ET
Celebrations were in abundance for the San Jose Sharks last time out, and they hope for more Wednesday as they seek their eighth straight win when they visit the Arizona Coyotes. San Jose remained unbeaten since the calendar changed to January when it posted a 5-2 home triumph over Pittsburgh on Tuesday behind Tomas Hertl's hat trick.
