Preview Roundups
November 18, 2018
Wake Forest at Valparaiso 10:30 AM ET
Wake Forest had high hopes for its trip to the Myrtle Beach Invitational, but it will have to settle for fifth place, at best, when it faces Valparaiso on Sunday. The Demon Deacons were hammered by Saint Joseph's in their tournament opener before slipping past Cal State Fullerton on Friday.
South Florida at Georgetown 12:00 PM ET
Georgetown will look to turn the page on what can only be termed a disappointing performance when it faces South Florida on Sunday in the Jamaica Classic at Montego Bay. The Hoyas fell apart defensively in the second half of their loss in the first game in Jamaica on Friday against Loyola Marymount but can earn a split on the trip by handing the Bulls their first defeat.
Alabama at Wichita St. 1:30 PM ET
Alabama and Wichita State both seek to leave South Carolina with a pair of victories in three contests when they meet in the fifth-place game of the Charleston Classic on Sunday afternoon. Alabama rolled to an 18-point win over Ball State and the Shockers rallied to knock off Appalachian State 82-76 with another big effort from senior Markis McDuffie on Friday in the consolation round.
Michigan at Providence 1:30 PM ET
No. 18 Michigan on Saturday wasn't quite able to match the high standard it had set defensively over its first three games, but John Beilein's squad picked a fine time to snap out of its 3-point shooting funk. The Wolverines eye their best start since winning 16 in a row to begin the 2012-13 season on Sunday, when they face Providence in the title game of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
Wofford at Oklahoma 2:00 PM ET
Oklahoma is riding high after a successful season-opening road trip through Texas that saw the Sooners win both their games in convincing fashion. Oklahoma plays its home opener Sunday afternoon as Wofford will look to hand the Sooners their first loss of the year.
South Carolina State at Ohio St. 2:00 PM ET
Ohio State returns home from a big road win at Creighton for what should be a much easier game against South Carolina State on Sunday. The Buckeyes have defeated two formidable opponents in their first three games, but the Bulldogs are on the opposite end of the spectrum, coming into the game ranked No. 347 of 353 Division I teams according to KenPom.com.
Indiana at Arkansas 3:30 PM ET
Indiana and Arkansas meet for the first time since 2008 when the Hoosiers make their first appearance at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Ark., for a Big Ten-SEC matchup. The Hoosiers should be feeling confident about their chances in their first road game of the season after an impressive 96-73 beatdown against Marquette on Wednesday night in the Gavitt Tipoff Games.
Mount St. Mary's at Maryland 4:00 PM ET

Maryland looks to continue its positive start to the season when it hosts Mount St. Mary's on Sunday. The Terrapins, who missed the NCAA Tournament last year for the first time since 2014, have reeled off four straight wins, including an 80-69 victory against Hofstra on Friday, and hope to stay on the right track by extending their non-conference home winning streak to 17 games.

Charleston at Oklahoma State 4:00 PM ET

Cameron McGriff was either a rebound or basket away from a double-double six times last season, but he produced 20 points and 10 rebounds on Wednesday night to earn his first career double-double in a win over Texas-San Antonio. It was a good bounce-back effort for the team after an opening-night collapse at Charlotte, and the Cowboys will shoot for an entire 40-minute performance when a strong College of Charleston team arrives Sunday.

St. Joseph's at West Virginia 4:00 PM ET
No. 13 West Virginia certainly is having a November to forget. The Mountaineers lost at home to Buffalo on opening night and now are playing in the third-place game of the Myrtle Beach Invitational on Sunday against Saint Joseph's.
South Carolina at George Washington 4:00 PM ET
A common theme for South Carolina throughout the first two weeks of the season has been a lack of production from its frontcourt, and it was an issue that continued to play out in Saturday's loss to Providence. The Gamecocks hope to find themselves an interior presence and overcome a disappointing loss when they meet George Washington on Sunday in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament consolation game at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
Oregon St. at Missouri 5:30 PM ET
With averages of 3.1 points and 2.5 rebounds over his first 88 games with Oregon State, Gligorije Rakocevic was one of the more unlikely candidates to step up in a tight game and keep his team undefeated. The 6-11 senior will attempt to build upon one of the best performances of his career Sunday when the Beavers meet Missouri in the semifinals of the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
VMI at Kentucky 6:00 PM ET

Just four days after the 10th anniversary of a stunning win at Rupp Arena, VMI returns to face second-ranked Kentucky again on Sunday in the Ohio River Valley Showcase. The Keydets shocked the Wildcats 111-103 on Nov. 14, 2008 – their only win over an SEC opponent since the 1975-76 season.

Tennessee Tech at Michigan St 6:00 PM ET
Michigan State looks for a third straight home victory when it hosts Tennessee Tech in a non-conference contest Sunday. The No. 10 Spartans are coming off an 80-59 victory over Louisiana Monroe on Wednesday while the Golden Eagles were blown out by No. 7 North Carolina 108-58 on Friday.
Central Florida at Western Kentucky 6:30 PM ET
After a couple of uncharacteristic defensive games to open the season, Central Florida has found its footing in Myrtle Beach. The Knights take a stab at capturing the Myrtle Beach Invitational title when they face off against Western Kentucky on Sunday.
Pennsylvania at Kansas State 7:30 PM ET
Perimeter shooting has been something of a sore subject for Kansas State, but another uneven performance from 3-point range didn't stop the Wildcats from coming alive in a big way offensively in their last game. Coming off by far its best offensive output of the year, No. 11 Kansas State attempts to move to 4-0 for the fourth straight season Sunday when it faces Pennsylvania on Sunday in the semifinals of the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Santa Clara at Washington 8:00 PM ET
Washington makes the three-hour drive north up the coast to British Columbia to open play in the inaugural Vancouver Showcase on Sunday against Santa Clara. The Huskies, who bounced back from an 88-66 loss at Auburn to edge San Diego, 66-63, on Monday night, will also face Texas A&M and Minnesota in the four-day event at the Vancouver Convention Center.
Virginia Tech at Purdue 8:30 PM ET
No one has been able to contain Purdue junior guard Carsen Edwards yet this season and Virginia Tech gets its shot Sunday night when the ranked teams meet in the championship game of the Charleston (S.C.) Classic. Edwards is averaging 26.8 points overall -- 27 in the tournament -- with 19 made 3-pointers for the 22nd-ranked Boilermakers and No. 17 Virginia Tech comes in off a 28-point win in the semifinals against Northeastern.
Minnesota at Texas A&M 10:30 PM ET
Texas A&M is coming off its second Sweet 16 appearance in three years but has managed just an unimpressive home win over Savannah State during a 1-2 start this season. The Aggies, who lost 94-71 at third-ranked Gonzaga on Thursday, now will try and turn things around with three games in the competitive Vancouver Showcase in British Columbia starting with a Sunday night game against unbeaten Minnesota.
