Preview Roundups
March 06, 2019
Miami at Charlotte 7:00 PM ET
It's a crowded race for the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference, and two of the teams in that battle will go head-to-head when the Charlotte Hornets host the Miami Heat on Wednesday. The teams enter the matchup tied as they battle with the Orlando Magic for the No. 8 spot.
Minnesota at Detroit 7:00 PM ET
After taking out one of the top teams in the NBA, the streaking Detroit Pistons begin a softer portion of their schedule when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. The Timberwolves are the first of six straight teams the Pistons will face with a .500 record or worse, and will be taking on a rested squad that is coming off a thrilling 112-107 overtime win over Toronto on Sunday.
Dallas at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Dallas Mavericks are a team in transition after sending off several veterans prior to the trade deadline and are still trying to come together with all of the new pieces. The Mavericks will try to shake off back-to-back blowout losses and avoid a three-game slide when they visit the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
San Antonio at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs have gotten defensive of late, and a renewed focus on that end of the floor has resulted in a three-game winning streak entering Wednesday’s contest at the Atlanta Hawks. The Spurs held off Denver 104-103 at home Monday and have allowed just 99 points per game during their winning streak, keeping San Antonio in possession of the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot and just one game out of sixth.
Cleveland at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
The Brooklyn Nets snapped out of their funk in a big way with a 127-88 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, ending a three-game losing streak. The Nets will try to post back-to-back victories and jump over .500 again when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.
Philadelphia at Chicago 8:00 PM ET
All-Star center Joel Embiid is expected to miss his seventh straight game when the Philadelphia 76ers visit the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Embiid has been ailing with a sore left knee, and the 76ers are 4-2 in his absence.
Utah at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The New Orleans Pelicans recovered from a 17-point deficit to beat Utah earlier this week and look to sweep the home-and-home set when they host the Jazz on Wednesday. New Orleans turned around Monday's game in Salt Lake City with a 22-2 burst to rally for a 115-112 victory over the Jazz.
New York at Phoenix 9:00 PM ET
The two worst teams in their respective conferences square off on Wednesday, when the Phoenix Suns host the New York Knicks. The Suns sit in the Western Conference basement but picked up wins in their last two games to jump over the Eastern Conference-worst Knicks in the race to avoid the league's worst record.
Boston at Sacramento 10:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics have been sputtering over recent weeks but will be looking to follow up an impressive victory when they visit the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday in the second contest of their four-game road trip. Boston shellacked Golden State 128-95 on Tuesday for just its second triumph in seven games.
Denver at L.A. Lakers 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Lakers are rapidly sliding out of the Western Conference playoff race as they entertain the visiting Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. The Lakers have lost three straight games and 20 of their past 30 and sit 5 1/2 games behind the San Antonio Spurs for the final spot.
