April 26, 2019
San Diego at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The San Diego Padres may have upgraded the batting order with more star power, but their pitching staff has made the biggest improvement as they prepare to open a three-game series at the Washington Nationals on Friday night. San Diego has allowed six total runs during a three-game winning streak and entered Thursday sixth in the majors in team ERA (3.54) after finishing 21st last season.
Miami at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
The Miami Marlins may share the majors' worst record this season, but they have given the Philadelphia Phillies all they can handle in three of four meetings this season. With two wins and an extra-inning loss in that stretch, the Marlins look to get the better of the Phillies yet again on Friday when the National League East rivals continue their four-game series in Philadelphia.
Oakland at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays will give fans a glimpse of the future when top prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. makes his major league debut on Friday. The Blue Jays, who host the Oakland Athletics in the opener of a three-game series, are hoping the slugger can add some punch to a lineup that was just shut out on two hits by the San Francisco Giants in a loss on Wednesday.
Tampa Bay at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays bolted out of the gate and had a chance to put the defending World Series champions in a deep hole last weekend, only to get swept at home in a three-game set by the struggling Boston Red Sox. Tampa Bay has an opportunity to exact some revenge on its American League East rivals when it opens a 10-game road trip with the first of three in Boston on Friday night.
Milwaukee at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
Reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom is expected to return to the mound after a brief stint on the injured list when the New York Mets host the slumping Milwaukee Brewers for the opener of a three-game series Friday night. The 30-year-old deGrom missed his last start due to mild elbow soreness, but after an MRI came back negative and a successful bullpen session on Wednesday the right-hander appears ready to go.
Colorado at Atlanta 7:20 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies were not going to average 2.8 runs per game for long, and now that the offense is producing the victories are piling up entering the start of a three-game series Friday at the Atlanta Braves. Outfielder David Dahl finished with three of Colorado’s 12 hits and the Rockies scored a season-high nine runs in Wednesday’s victory over Washington for their eighth triumph in their past 10 games - a stretch in which the offense is scoring 5.5 runs on 9.7 hits per contest.
Detroit at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers opened their nine-game road trip in promising fashion, sweeping a doubleheader from the Boston Red Sox, but the good vibes quickly were doused by the defending World Series champions. After getting outscored 18-7 in back-to-back losses, the Tigers will return to division play when they open a three-game set at the Chicago White Sox on Friday night.
Cleveland at Houston 8:10 PM ET
Corey Kluber is struggling to find his form and will take another shot at locating it when the Cleveland Indians visit the Houston Astros on Friday in the second contest of a four-game set. The two-time American League Cy Young winner has a 5.88 ERA over five starts this season.
Baltimore at Minnesota 8:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins had a chance at a perfect six-game road trip dashed when they dropped two straight to the Houston Astros, but things are still looking bright. The Twins will try to get back in the win column when they open a seven-game homestand against the same two teams by hosting the Baltimore Orioles for the first of three contests on Friday.
LA Angels at Kansas City 8:15 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels hit the road for a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals beginning Friday after capping a 2-6 homestand with an offensive explosion. Los Angeles avoided a four-game sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees with an 11-5 victory Thursday that was highlighted by a career-high five RBIs from David Fletcher.
Cincinnati at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals have won five in a row overall and 10 of their last 11 home games to create some distance in the National League Central. The Cardinals look to add to those numbers on Friday as they begin the last leg of their nine-game homestand with the opener of a three-game series versus the cellar-dwelling Cincinnati Reds.
Chi. Cubs at Arizona 9:40 PM ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks haven’t lost to someone other than the Chicago Cubs in nearly two weeks - but that’s who they’ll face when they open a five-game homestand Friday. The surging teams square off for a three-game series with the Cubs having won nine of their last 12 while Arizona has won nine of its last 11.

Pittsburgh at LA Dodgers 10:10 PM ET
Cody Bellinger is showing no signs of slowing down and will lead the Los Angeles Dodgers into the opener of a three-game series with the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday. The 23-year-old, who is batting .457 with seven home runs in 13 home games, had a double, a walk and a key sacrifice fly to help the Dodgers avoid a sweep with a 2-1 victory at the Chicago Cubs on Thursday.
Texas at Seattle 10:10 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners have been the most productive offensive team in the majors and look to rack up another big run total when they host the Texas Rangers on Friday in the second contest of a four-game set. The Mariners rolled to a 14-2 triumph in the series opener to raise their major league-leading run total to 177.
NY Yankees at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants will see a familiar face in the opposing dugout Friday when they begin a three-game series against the visiting New York Yankees. Outfielder Cameron Maybin, who spent time in camp with the Giants during spring training, was acquired in a trade from Cleveland on Thursday and could see immediate playing time in New York’s injury-plagued outfield.
