Preview Roundups
April 25, 2019
Arizona at Pittsburgh 12:35 PM ET
The Arizona Diamondbacks may be playing the finale of their 10-game road trip on Thursday afternoon by the letter of the law of the official schedule, but they've made themselves at home when they visit the Steel City. The surging Diamondbacks vie for their 10th straight win in Pittsburgh on Thursday afternoon when they conclude their four-game series against the Pirates.
LA Dodgers at Chi. Cubs 2:20 PM ET

The Chicago Cubs’ starting pitching has been excellent since Jon Lester went on the injured list more than two weeks ago, and now the Cubs are about to get their ace back. Lester will return to try to pitch the Cubs to a three-game sweep of the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.

Atlanta at Cincinnati 6:40 PM ET
Freddie Freeman remains a model of consistency in the midst of the Atlanta Braves' offense, and entering the finale of a three-game series Thursday at the Cincinnati Reds, he looks to continue his steady start to the season. The Braves' first baseman has reached base in every game so far in 2019, extending the streak to 23 games with a single in Wednesday’s 3-1 victory, pulling within four games of the Atlanta mark set by J.D. Drew in 2004.
Miami at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
The Philadelphia Phillies provided a positive memory to what was a forgettable road trip, with Rhys Hoskins' slow and purposeful home run trot perhaps serving as the catalyst to get the slumping team off and running again. The Phillies look to get it in gear on Thursday when they begin a nine-game homestand with the opener of a four-game series versus the Miami Marlins.
Detroit at Boston 7:10 PM ET
Getting a rare win from a starting pitcher and some late offense, the Boston Red Sox avoided a third straight defeat and will try for a split of their four-game series against the visiting Detroit Tigers on Thursday night. The Red Sox rebounded from Tuesday's doubleheader sweep by amassing a season-high run total in Wednesday's 11-4 rout of Detroit.
Cleveland at Houston 8:10 PM ET
Former UCLA teammates Trevor Bauer and Gerrit Cole square off Thursday when Bauer's Cleveland Indians open a four-game road series against Cole's Houston Astros. The two right-handers aren't fond of one another with Bauer saying last year that Cole told him he "had no future in baseball" when the two were freshmen at UCLA in 2009.
NY Yankees at LA Angels 9:07 PM ET
The New York Yankees aim to complete a four-game series sweep when they visit the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday. New York has won a season-best six straight and eight of its last nine after claiming the first three games of the set by a total of four runs.
Texas at Seattle 10:10 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners have cooled off after a sizzling start to the year, coming back to the pack in the American League West after dropping nine of their last 12 games. After losing three straight to close out a six-game road trip, the Mariners look to get back on track when they play the first of four versus the visiting Texas Rangers on Thursday night.
