Rangers 5, Maple Leafs 4: Mats Zuccarello scored his second goal of the game with 5:56 remaining in the third period to snap a tie as visiting New York outslugged slumping Toronto.

Dominic Moore netted a short-handed goal and added an assist while Kevin Hayes and defenseman Dan Boyle also tallied for the Rangers, who salvaged the finale of the three-game season series with their Original Six rival. All-Star Rick Nash collected three assists, Derick Brassard and defenseman Marc Staal each notched two and Cam Talbot finished with 30 saves in his career-high fourth straight start.

Morgan Rielly scored twice and fellow defenseman Stephane Robidas netted his first goal of the season for the Maple Leafs, who have dropped 12 of their last 13 games (1-11-1) .Daniel Winnik collected a goal and an assist while Nazem Kadri hit the crossbar with three minutes remaining in the third period in a bid to tie the contest.

Toronto erased a 4-2 deficit as Rielly scored his second of the contest with a wrist shot from the slot 20 seconds into the third period and Winnik forged a tie when his centering feed caromed off New York captain Ryan McDonagh's stick and past Talbot at 6:46. New York regained the lead as Nash sent a backhand pass into the slot for Zuccarello, who wired a shot that beat James Reimer (34 saves) inside the left post.

Boyle scored from in front 2:57 into the contest and Zuccarello took advantage of Maple Leafs defenseman Cody Franson's turnover midway through the first period to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead. Rielly scored from the left faceoff circle five minutes later to halve the deficit and the teams traded tallies 26 seconds apart early in the second before Moore's turnaround shot from well above the right circle beat Reimer over his glove midway into the session.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Zuccarello has collected three goals and five assists during his career-high six-game point streak. ... Toronto, which went 1-for-2 on the power play, is 4-for-8 in three meetings with New York this season. ... Robidas scored his first goal since tallying 16 seconds into overtime in Anaheim's 5-4 victory over Winnipeg on March 31. ... The Rangers' seven short-handed goals trail Dallas and the rival New York Islanders (eight) for the most in the league, while Toronto has yielded an NHL-high nine this season.
