Rangers 2, Flyers 0: Cam Talbot made 31 saves to record both his first win and shutout of the season as New York skated to its ninth consecutive victory over Philadelphia at Madison Square Garden.

Rick Nash netted his team-leading 13th goal and defenseman Kevin Klein matched a career high with his fourth for the Rangers, who have outscored the Flyers 33-9 during their run of home dominance. Martin St. Louis notched an assist to extend his point streak to three games as New York ended a three-game skid with its second win in seven outings (2-3-2).

Philadelphia captain Claude Giroux was in the lineup after being considered doubtful due to an apparent lower-body injury he suffered in practice on Monday. Steve Mason turned aside 32 shots for the Flyers, who have dropped three straight and yielded seven power-play goals in their last 11 opportunities.

Winless in his first three decisions (0-2-1), Talbot made a pad save on Vincent Lecavalier's breakaway bid before denying Wayne Simmonds from in close late in the second period. The 27-year-old would not be denied in the third, making 13 saves to preserve his fourth career shutout.

Carl Hagelin won a battle for the possession before muscling the puck to an unmarked Klein, who wired a quick shot from the right circle past Mason to open the scoring 5:10 into the first period. Nash missed the net on an earlier sequence, but made up for it later in the power play by sweeping St. Louis' cross-slot feed into the gaping net at 7:43 of the second.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Philadelphia D Michael Del Zotto exited with a lower-body injury in the third period during his return to Madison Square Garden. Del Zotto played parts of his first five seasons with New York. ... Flyers RW Jakub Voracek saw his 10-game point streak come to a halt. ... Klein, who was traded for Del Zotto, scored four goals in 63 games with Nashville during the 2008-09 season.
