Canadiens 4, Bruins 3 (2OT): Defenseman P.K. Subban scored his second power-play goal of the contest 4:17 into double overtime as visiting Montreal drew first blood in its Eastern Conference second-round series.

Carey Price (48 saves) denied David Krejci's backhanded bid from in close midway through the first overtime before Tuukka Rask (29 saves) made a brilliant glove save on Tomas Plekanec early in the second. Boston defenseman Matt Bartkowski was whistled for holding and the Canadiens promptly cashed in after the ensuing faceoff. Blue-liner Andrei Markov set up Subban, who unleashed a blast from the point that sailed past Rask to end the contest.

Rene Bourque collected a goal and an assist while defenseman Francis Bouillon also tallied for Montreal, which remained perfect after sweeping Tampa Bay in the first round. Markov notched two assists in the win.

Defenseman Johnny Boychuk forged a 3-3 tie with 1:58 remaining in the third period for the Bruins, who host Game 2 on Saturday afternoon. Reilly Smith and blue-liner Torey Krug also tallied while Brad Marchand set up a pair of goals.

Smith scored from deep in the right faceoff circle at 2:44 of the third period before Krug leveled the contest at 2-2 with a blast from the left circle at 6:30. Montreal captain Brian Gionta, who was playing in his 100th career playoff game, set up Bouillon for a one-timer from the left circle 5 1/2 minutes later, but Boychuk answered with a blast from the point that beat a screened Price.
