Maple Leafs 3, Rangers 2 (OT): Tyler Bozak converted his first career penalty shot in the second period and also scored 1:51 into overtime as visiting Toronto spoiled Martin St. Louis' debut with New York.

In the extra session, Phil Kessel chased down a loose puck behind the net and backhanded it to an unmarked Bozak on the doorstep. The 27-year-old made no mistake, beating Henrik Lundqvist (26 saves) inside the right post for his 14th goal of the season.

Nazem Kadri also tallied and Jonathan Bernier finished with 35 saves for the Maple Leafs, who snapped a three-game winless streak (0-1-2) to salvage the finale of the three-game season series.

Dominic Moore set up defenseman Ryan McDonagh's short-handed goal early in the third period and added one of his own 79 seconds later for the Rangers, who have dropped three in a row.

After Kadri cleaned up a rebound to give Toronto a 2-1 lead two minutes into the third, McDonagh trimmed the deficit 3 1/2 minutes later as his wrist shot caromed off the right skate of Toronto captain Dion Phaneuf and into the net. Moore forged a tie by reeling in Derek Stepan's pass on a 2-on-1 rush before wristing a shot past Bernier.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New York acquired St. Louis from Tampa Bay for fellow captain Ryan Callahan, a second-round pick in the 2014 draft and a first-round selection in 2015. The Rangers also secured the services of D Raphael Diaz from Vancouver for a 2014 fifth-round pick. ... Toronto drew first blood at 1:44 of the second period as Bozak reeled in LW James van Riemsdyk's stretch pass before being hooked on a breakaway by New York D John Moore. Bozak converted the subsequent penalty shot by beating Lundqvist between the pads. ... Toronto yielded a pair of short-handed goals on the same power play for the second time in four games.
