Oilers 4, Panthers 1: Jordan Eberle scored twice as host Edmonton set a season high with its third consecutive victory.

Sam Gagner and David Perron added goals for the Oilers, who have outscored the opposition 15-3 during the winning streak. Devan Dubnyk made 24 saves to preserve the victory while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins added three assists.

Scottie Upshall's second-period goal paced the Panthers, who fell to 2-2-0 on their five-game Western Conference road swing. Tim Thomas stopped 31 shots in defeat.

Edmonton needed less than a minute to carry over its momentum from a 7-0 win over Columbus earlier in the week, as Eberle batted a mid-air rebound of Nugent-Hopkins' shot past Thomas with defenseman Tom Gilbert serving a holding penalty. Gagner extended the lead 6:10 into the second, converting a slick pass from Nail Yakupov for his first goal of the season.

Perron made it a 3-0 game on the man advantage at 10:54, tipping home defenseman Justin Schultz's shot for his fourth goal in three games. Upshall put the Panthers on the board at 16:34 of the period - ending a run of 14 straight Edmonton goals - but Dubnyk kept Florida off the ledger the rest of the way, helping kill off back-to-back Panthers power plays early in the period while Eberle put the game away with an empty netter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nugent-Hopkins was involved in the strangest play of the game near the midway point of the first period, as he wound up with Panthers LW omas Fleischmann's stick wedged underneath his visor. Nugent-Hopkins ended up discarding his helmet as play continued. ... Dubnyk saw his personal shutout streak snapped at 119 minutes, 26 seconds. ... Nugent-Hopkins has five assists in his past two games.
