Bruins 4, Islanders 1: Brad Marchand scored for the fifth time in seven contests and Tuukka Rask turned aside 36 shots as Boston concluded a five-game road trip with its fourth consecutive victory.
Defenseman Adam McQuaid tallied for the first time in 46 contests and David Krejci and Gregory Campbell also scored. Patrice Bergeron and Tyler Seguin notched a pair of assists apiece for the Bruins, who have won 17 of their last 22 meetings (17-4-1) with the Islanders and improved to 8-1-1 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Casey Cizikas scored and Evgeni Nabokov finished with 30 saves for New York, which has dropped seven of its last eight home games and matched a franchise low with a 2-8-0 mark.
Marchand recorded his team-leading 10th goal to snap a 1-1 tie just 38 seconds into the middle period after cleaning up the rebound of defenseman Andrew Ference's shot on net. Krejci doubled the advantage nearly five minutes later after accepting Milan Lucic's brilliant backhanded feed before one-timing a shot from the left faceoff circle which sailed under the crossbar.
McQuaid opened the scoring at 6:43 of the first period after blasting a shot from the right faceoff circle which trickled past Nabokov. Cizikas answered with 4:11 left in the session, accepting Josh Bailey's centering feed and lifting the puck past Rask.
GAME NOTEBOOK: McQuaid's last goal came against the New York Rangers on Jan. 21, 2012. The Prince Edward Island native has seven career tallies in 172 contests. ... Boston, which killed off all three short-handed opportunities, has not yielded a power-play goal in its last 22 chances. ... Bergeron leads the Bruins with 10 assists.
