Corey Crawford stopped all 28 shots he faced, and Jeremy Colliton earned his first career coaching victory as the Chicago Blackhawks held on for a 1-0 win over the visiting St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night.

Brent Seabrook scored the lone goal for Chicago, which snapped an eight-game losing streak. The Blackhawks beat the Blues for the third time in four meetings this season.

St. Louis lost its second straight game and was shut out for the first time this season. The scoreless night marked the end of Ryan O'Reilly's 10-game points streak, which was a career high.

Colliton earned his milestone victory in his fourth game behind the bench for the Blackhawks, who fired longtime coach Joel Quenneville on Nov. 6.

The Blackhawks went 0-2-1 in their first three contests with Colliton, a former New York Islanders forward who at 33 years old is the youngest current coach in the NHL.

Crawford posted the victory with eight saves in the first period, 10 saves in the second and 10 saves in the third. He collected his first shutout of the season and the 24th of his career.

Blues goaltender Jake Allen stopped 18 of 19 shots but dropped to 4-4-3.

A fortunate bounce on the power play helped Chicago grab a 1-0 lead at the 4:05 mark of the second period. Jonathan Toews carried the puck toward the crease and spotted Seabrook near the left circle.

Seabrook slapped a one-timer toward the net, and Allen kicked it aside. But the rebound hit Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester in his right skate, and the 16-year veteran inadvertently kicked the puck into his own net.

Seabrook was credited with his third goal of the season and the 98th of his career. Toews and Patrick Kane picked up the assists as the Blackhawks registered only their eighth power-play goal in 19 games.

Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko lost a tooth in the second period after he took a stick to the face. He took off one of his gloves, scooped to pick up the tooth and skated to his bench, where he handed it to a trainer.
