Ducks 3, Kings 0: Jonas Hiller turned aside 36 shots - including 20 in the first period - and Corey Perry scored his team-leading 28th goal as visiting Anaheim emerged victorious at Dodger Stadium in the opener of the NHL Stadium Series.

With a game-time temperature of 62 degrees and numerous celebrities in attendance, this outdoor contest had a vastly different feel than the frigid Winter Classic on New Year's Day. Legendary Dodgers announcer Vin Scully welcomed the crowd and Hall-of-Famer Wayne Gretzky participated in the ceremonial puck drop before the Ducks drew first blood 2:45 into the contest.

Jonathan Quick (18 saves) was unable to control Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf's wrist shot from the left faceoff circle - and Perry alertly tapped home the loose puck as it rested in the crease. Anaheim doubled the advantage nearly 5 1/2 minutes later as the puck caromed off both Matt Beleskey and the blocker of Quick before squeezing inside the left post.

Anze Kopitar was awarded a penalty shot after being hooked by Anaheim defenseman Ben Lovejoy midway through the first period, but Hiller kept his pads closed to preserve the Ducks' 2-0 lead. The Swiss netminder registered his 20th career shutout and fourth of the season one start removed from receiving an early exit on Sunday after yielding three goals on 11 shots versus Winnipeg.

Andrew Cogliano scored an empty-net goal and Nick Bonino notched an assist to extend his point streak to four games for Anaheim, which posted a 2-1 home triumph over Los Angeles on Thursday. The Kings fell to 0-4-1 in their last five contests.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Los Angeles also was involved in an outdoor exhibition against the New York Rangers that took place on Sept. 27, 1991 in the parking lot of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. ... Legendary Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda and current reliever Brian Wilson, three-time Olympic beach volleyball champion Kerri Walsh Jennings, game show host Pat Sajak and actress Alyssa Milano were in attendance. ... Rock band KISS performed both prior to the contest and during the first intermission.
