Jalen Hurts passed for 289 yards, rushed for 150 more, and accounted for four touchdowns to lead No. 5 Oklahoma over host UCLA 48-14 on Saturday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.

Hurts set the tone rushing for 99 yards on the opening possession. The Oklahoma drive officially went 89 yards, but a holding penalty provided the nation's fifth-ranked player in total offense coming into Saturday with an opportunity to further pad his lofty stats.

With Hurts clicking, the Sooners (3-0) scored on every first-half possession en route to a 34-7 halftime advantage. Hurts found Charleston Rambo and CeeDee Lamb on scoring passes of 48 and 39 yards, respectively, and Lamb finished a short, 36-yard drive just before intermission with a 1-yard rush.

UCLA (0-3) showed life when it ate up almost eight minutes on the first possession out of intermission, capping the drive with Dorian Thompson-Robinson's 8-yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Erwin. The Bruins defense then forced the first Oklahoma punt of the night on the ensuing possession, but a turnover on downs ended the rally.

Hurts threw a perfect, 39-yard touchdown pass to Rambo in stride just before the end of the third quarter to make it 41-14. His two scoring catches accounted for 87 of Rambo's game-high 116 yards receiving on five catches.

Nine Sooners caught passes, though none other than Rambo caught more than two. Lee Morris was second in receiving yards with 43 yards. Oklahoma split rushing duties, and running backs Trey Sermon, Kennedy Brooks and Rhamondre Stevenson each complemented Hurts. Brooks finished with 62 yards, Sermon added 51 and Stevenson had 37 -- including a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring.

Thompson-Robinson threw a pair of touchdowns for UCLA, the first a 13-yard laser to Kyle Philips. Thompson-Robinson finished completed 15 of 25 passes for 201 yards, while UCLA mustered just 110 yards in rushing support.

Running back Joshua Kelley, the Pac-12's third-leading returning rusher coming into the season, showed the effects of a preseason ankle injury. He finished with 51 yards on 18 carries. Wide receiver Demetric Felton led UCLA with 65 rushing yards, though 42 came on a single run in the third quarter.
