Wisconsin 56, Illinois 32: Melvin Gordon ran for 142 yards and three scores and James White scored three touchdowns as the visiting Badgers beat Illinois for the eighth time in the last nine meetings.

Gordon went over 1,000 yards and has 11 touchdowns for Wisconsin (5-2, 3-1 Big Ten), which led 21-0 after the first quarter. The Fighting Illini (3-3, 0-2) lost for the third time in four games.

Illinois quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase hit 20-of-27 throws for 249 yards and ran for a touchdown. It was not nearly enough against Wisconsin’s prolific attack.

Badgers star receiver Jared Abbrederis returned from a head injury he suffered against Northwestern and caught eight passes for 106 yards. White ran for 98 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries and caught three passes for 29 yards and another score.

Wisconsin piled up 289 rushing yards, averaging 6.3 per carry, and held the ball for more than 34 minutes without committing a turnover.
