UCLA 66, Arizona 10: Johnathan Franklin rushed for 162 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns and became the Bruins' all-time leading rusher as host UCLA rolled in Pac-12 Conference play.
UCLA's Brett Hundley threw three touchdown passes, two of them to tight end Joseph Fauria. Hundley finished 23-of-28 for 288 yards and also rushed for a score as the Bruins snapped Arizona's five-game winning streak in the series. It was the most points UCLA scored since it defeated Houston by the same score in 1997.
UCLA (7-2, 4-2 Pac-12 South) blew the game open by the half leading 42-3. The Bruins scored touchdowns on all six of their first-half possessions to take the lead in the Pac-12 South Division. Franklin opened the scoring with a 37-yard touchdown run and broke Gaston Green's career rushing mark of 3,731 yards in the process. Franklin has 3,873 career yards.
Arizona (5-4, 2-4) not only lost control of its fate in the South Division but lost quarterback Matt Scott to a head injury in the third quarter. Scott (15-of-25, 124 yards) was injured when he hit his head on UCLA's Datone Jones while being taken down from behind. He left the game and did not return.
Arizona sophomore linebacker Hank Hobson was also carted off after collapsing in the fourth quarter. There was no immediate word on his condition. Ka'Deem Carey scored the lone Arizona touchdown. The 2-yard run cut the deficit to 45-10 in the third quarter.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Hundley's father played running back at Arizona in the 1980s. ... The Wildcats have yet to win a road game under first-year coach Rich Rodriguez. ... Arizona won last year's matchup 48-12 in the desert.
