Collin Klein threw one touchdown and ran for two more to lead Kansas State to a 37-0 victory over visiting Kent State on Saturday.

Anthony Cantele kicked three field goals and David Garrett return an interception for a touchdown as the Wildcats (2-0) improved to 59-3 at home against non-conference opponents since 1990.

Kansas State also improved to 12-5 after an off week under coach Bill Snyder.

The Golden Flashes (0-3) are well on their way to their 24th straight non-winning season.

They were an easy target for the Wildcats, who bounced back after a less-than-inspiring 10-7 season-opening victory over Eastern Kentucky.

Kansas State’s defense set the tone less than three minutes in when Garrett intercepted Spencer Keith’s pass and returned it 45 yards for a score. Klein’s 5-yard touchdown run capped a 95-yard drive made it 14-0 with 5:56 left in the first quarter and the rout was on.
