Tyler Wilson passed for one touchdown and ran for another as No. 13 Arkansas rolled up more than 600 total yards in a 52-3 rout of visiting New Mexico on Saturday.
Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino's teams have finished in the top 10 in the nation in total offense seven times since 1994, and the Razorbacks are off to a great start this season. After putting up 51 points in an opening win against Missouri State, Arkansas racked up 634 total yards against the Lobos, the sixth-highest total in school history and the most since 2007.
Wilson, making his second collegiate start, completed 20-of-29 passes for 268 yards and a touchdown. He added 46 rushing yards and a score on five carries.
Backup quarterback Brandon Mitchell also passed for a touchdown and ran for another, and freshman Kody Walker added two rushing touchdowns, and has four in the first two games of his career.
The Razorbacks (2-0) led only 7-3 until late in the first quarter, when Marquel Wade returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown. Arkansas scored 17 points in the second quarter to break it open.
New Mexico (0-2) fell to 7-48 all-time against ranked teams. The Lobos haven't beaten a ranked opponent since a 47-35 win over No. 23 Utah in 2003.
The Razorbacks have won nine straight games in Little Rock and are 165-65-4 all-time when playing at their alternate home stadium in the state capital.
