Kansas State survived a major scare from North Texas and held on for a 49-41 win Saturday in Denton, Texas.
Daniel Thomas rushed for 267 yards and two touchdowns for the Wildcats (7-5, 3-5 Big 12).
Lance Dunbar rushed for 274 yards and three touchdowns for North Texas (3-9, 3-5 Sun Belt).
North Texas led 20-7 after the first quarter, but Kansas State scored 28 straight points to take a 35-20 lead midway through the third quarter.
The Green Eagles (3-9, 3-5 Sun Belt) got within one score on Dunbar's third touchdown run with 10 minutes to play, but Kansas State's defense closed things out down the stretch.
