Adam Froman passed for 195 yards and a touchdown and Doug Beaumont ran a punt back for a score as host Louisville rolled over Connecticut, 26-0, on Saturday.
Chris Philpott kicked four field goals and Bilal Powell rushed for 107 yards for the Cardinals, who posted their second shutout in three games.
Louisville capitalized on a Connecticut mistake en route to its first score. The Huskies forced the Cardinals to punt from their own 46-yard line, but UConn fumbled the punt, allowing Louisville to take over at the Connecticut 18-yard line. Powell rushed twice to get the Cardinals to the 2-yard line and Froman capped the drive with a touchdown toss to Cameron Graham.
Philpott nailed a pair of field goals later in the second quarter, sending the Cardinals into the break with a 13-0 lead.
Louisville (4-3, 1-1) forced the Huskies to punt on their first possession of the third quarter, and Beaumont returned it 74 yards for a touchdown.
Connecticut (3-4, 0-2), which dismissed starting quarterback Cody Endres earlier in the week, could not get much offense going and finished with 190 yards -- 85 passing.
