Connecticut got a clinching 44-yard interception return for a touchdown from Blidi Wreh-Wilson to turn back visiting Vanderbilt 40-21 on Saturday in East Hartford, Conn.

UConn running back Jordan Todman, who missed last week with an injury, rushed for 190 yards and two first-half touchdowns. Vanderbilt countered with two touchdown passes from Larry Smith in the second quarter and sent the game to intermission tied, 21-21.

The Huskies (2-2) assumed control in the third quarter on Cody Endres' 4-yard touchdown pass to Corey Manning. Dave Teggart's 25-yard field put UConn up 31-21 heading into the fourth quarter.

Wreh-Wilson picked off Smith with nine minutes to play in the game to seal the victory for the Huskies.

The Commodores (1-3, 1-1 SEC) host Eastern Michigan next week.

UConn (2-2) opens Big East play next week at Rutgers.
