Fighting off a second-half surge in the Superdome, Ole Miss was able to put a notch in the win column with a 27-13 road victory over Tulane in New Orleans Saturday night.

Ole Miss (1-1) made its offensive run in the first half, dropping 24 points on Tulane (1-1)

Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli led the first half scoring, rushing for one touchdown in the first quarter and hitting wide receiver Markeith Summers down the middle on a 70 yard pass for the score late in the second quarter. Summers finished with a huge day, catching five balls for 164 yards.

Masoli finished 14-of-20 for 280 yards, as well as 27 yards rushing.

Running back Brandon Bolden rushed for another touchdown with 3:30 left in the first quarter.

Mississippi kicker Bryson Rose added two field goals, one from 41 yards and one from 30 yards.

Tulane's only touchdown came on a 1-yard run from tailback Orleans Darkwa with 2:09 left in the third quarter to make the game 24-10. A Cairo Santos field goal at 10:33 in left in the fourth quarter brought Tulane to its closest point at 24-13 before Ole Miss stretched the clock out.

Tulane quarterback Ryan Griffin was 21-of-30 for 203 yards.
