Kansas 64, Western Kentucky 57: Jeff Withey collected 17 points, seven blocks and six rebounds as the top-seeded Jayhawks avoided the upset in the NCAA Tournament second round in Kansas City, Mo.

Travis Releford added 11 points and held Hilltoppers leading scorer T.J. Price to 12 points to help Kansas (30-5) survive despite 17 turnovers and win for the 11th time in 12 games. The Jayhawks advance to face former coach Roy Williams and North Carolina on Sunday.

Jamal Crook scored 13 points to lead four players in double figures for the Hilltoppers (20-16), who led 31-30 at halftime but went cold after the break. Western Kentucky was 8-for-39 in the second half after going 13-for-27 in the first half.
