WASHINGTON 59, WASHINGTON STATE 55:
Tony Wroten scored 21 points and the Huskies overcame a 13-point second-half deficit to stun the host Cougars.

C.J. Wilcox added 16 points as Washington (20-8, 13-3 Pac-12) moved into a first-place tie with California, which visits Colorado on Sunday.

Brock Motum scored 17 points and Marcus Capers added 14 for Washington State (14-14, 6-10).

The comeback victory marks the first time Washington has posted 20 wins in four straight seasons in school history. The Cougars helped set up the rally by going 17 of 32 from the free throw line.

Abdul Gaddy’s fast-break basket with 2:17 to play put the Huskies ahead for good. Washington State had a chance to tie but Reggie Moore made only 1 or 2 free throws with 51.3 seconds left.

Wroten hit one free throw and Wilcox hit two to supply the final margin.

Washington was in big trouble after Washington State used a 12-0 spurt early in the second half to take a 45-32 lead with 12:46 left.

A short time later, the Huskies rattled off 13 straight points and tied the game at 47 on Darnell Gant’s free throw with 7:50 remaining.

The Huskies experienced a 7 1/2 minute scoring drought in the first half as Washington State rolled off 14 straight points to take a 14-6 lead.

Wilcox hit four 3-pointers during a 16-4 run that saw Washington take a 22-18 advantage with 5:50 remaining. The score was tied 28-28 at halftime.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Washington rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit in winning the first meeting 75-65 on Jan. 15. … Motum has scored in double figures in 26 of 28 games. … Huskies forward Terrence Ross had only two points before fouling out. He had a career-high 30 in the first meeting. … Cougars guard Marcus Capers played in his 126th game, one off the school record held by George Hamilton (1945, 1947-49).
