CALIFORNIA 73, UCLA 63: Harper Kamp became the 18th player in Cal history to score 1,000 points and grab 500 rebounds reaching both milestones as the Bears cruised past the host Bruins to remain in first place in the Pac-12.
With the win, the Bears (20-6, 10-3 Pac-12) capped a rare season sweep of the series. Cal was led by Justin Cobbs with 18 points and Allen Crabbe had 14. Kamp finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
Cal, which led 32-26 at the half, used a 15-2 run early in the second half to open up a double-digit lead. The Bears led 64-47 with 8:42 to play, but UCLA held them scoreless for over four minutes late and eventually trimmed the deficit to seven points.
The Bruins could not get any closer.
UCLA (14-11, 7-6 Pac-12) was led by Jerime Anderson with 16 points and Lazeric Jones had 15. David Wear had 11 points, all in the second half, before fouling out.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Cal has won four of its last five games … It was Cal’s 100th all-time win against UCLA … UCLA didn’t have an assist in the first half. It finished with seven.
