Terrance Henry recorded 24 points and 10 rebounds as visiting Mississippi took a big lead and held off a furious late rally for a 66-63 victory over Georgia on Saturday.
Murphy Holloway and Nick Williams added 12 points each for the Rebels (13-6, 3-2 SEC), who saw a 13-point lead cut to one in the final four minutes. Georgia missed two 3-pointers in the final seconds that could have tied the game.
Mississippi dominated inside, out-rebounding the Bulldogs 42-30. Reginald Buckner had 10 boards for the Rebels. Ole Miss has averaged 8.4 more rebounds than their opponents in SEC games.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led Georgia (10-9, 1-4) with 25 points before fouling out late, and Gerald Robinson added 19. Robinson was 0-for-12 from 3-point range the previous six games, but made three Saturday.
Henry scored 15 points in the first half for Mississippi, converting 6-of-8 from the field. The Rebels scored 14 of the last 17 points – six by Williams – to take a 34-23 halftime lead.
Georgia made just 8-of-27 from the field in the opening 20 minutes and were outrebounded, 21-11. Robinson, who scored 22 against Mississippi last season, recorded eight points in the first half for the Bulldogs.
