Keiton Page scored 13 of his 20 points before halftime, and Oklahoma State used a big first-half run to blow out Langston 80-58 at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowboys (5-2) led only 17-15 midway through the first half, but Le’Bryan Nash’s layup sparked a 16-3 run that Page capped with a 3-pointer.
Oklahoma State shot 55 percent in the first half to build a 44-27 halftime advantage, and then used that cushion to cruise after the break.
After the Lions cut the lead to as little as 11 late in the game, the Cowboys went on an 11-0 spurt to seal the victory.
Langston (1-7), an NAIA school located 20 miles away from Oklahoma State, got 13 points apiece from Modteets Williams, Landon Gray and Jabril Bailey. Nate Barfield, the team’s leading scorer, finished with six points before fouling out.
Markel Brown scored 19 points and Mike Cobbins added 10 off the bench for the Cowboys, who were playing their last game at home until Dec. 31. Oklahoma State is scheduled to play five road or neutral-site games in December before hosting Virginia Tech on New Year’s Eve.
Despite the schools' proximity, this was only the second meeting and the first since 2000, when Oklahoma State pounded Langston 125-65.
