Reserve guard C.J. Wilcox scored eight straight points for Washington midway through the second half Saturday to blunt an Oregon surge and rally the host Huskies to a 76-60 victory over the Ducks.

Wilcox had a 15-point second half in matching his career best with 24 points and freshman Tony Wroten added 17 points and five assists for the Huskies (8-5, 2-0 Pac-12).

The Ducks (10-4, 1-1) made a run early in the second half, a stretch that came in the wake of double technical fouls against Oregon’s Olu Ashaolu and Washington’s Darnell Gant. That play came at 15:50, and the Huskies would be outscored 8-1 by the Ducks and wouldn’t score again from the field until 12:13.

That’s when Wilcox hit the first of two 3-pointers in 28 seconds to get Washington back in control at 54-46.

The game was close in the first half until Washington took over in the final nine minutes of the half. After Oregon forward E.J. Singler hit a 3-pointer at 8:47 to get the Ducks within two points at 24-22, Oregon wouldn’t get another field goal, and only four free throws, until Ashaolu delivered a layup with 1:52 left in the half.

Over that stretch, the Huskies increased their lead to 39-28 before leading at the half by 41-30.

Singler wound up with 20 points and nine rebounds to lead the Ducks, but 13 of the points and seven of the rebounds came in the first half before Washington put on the clamps down the stretch.
