Chasson Randle and John Gage scored 10 points apiece for the Cardinal, who snapped the Bruins’ (7-6, 0-1) five-game winning streak.
Joshua Smith had 10 points and six rebounds for UCLA before fouling out with 1:24 left. Despite a clear height advantage, the Bruins were out rebounded 32-29.
Stanford, which bounced back from a home loss to Butler last Thursday, shot just 19-of-55 (34.5 percent) from the field. UCLA shot 39.2 percent, including 4-of-15 from beyond the arc.
