After North Dakota State’s Mike Felt hit an off-balance 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds left to tie the game at 57, Arizona State (4-5) answered when Chanse Creekmur inbounded the ball to Trent Lockett, who passed to Felix for the game-winning shot.
Taylor Braun had 16 points and eight rebounds for North Dakota State (7-2), which shot 36 percent from the field. The Bison were 3-of-21 (14 percent) from beyond the arc.
Playing one day after highly touted freshman point guard Jahii Carson was ruled academically ineligible for the season, Arizona State committed 16 turnovers and shot just 15-of-44 (34 percent) from the field.
Kyle Cain and Lockett combined for 24 points and 25 rebounds for Arizona State. The Sun Devils played without point guard Chris Colvin, who sat out for disciplinary reasons.
North Dakota State was outrebounded 42-28 and fell to 0-4 against Pac-12 teams since beginning Division I play in 2004-05.
