Cheikh Mbodj scored a career-high 12 points, including two crucial 3-pointers late in the game, and Cincinnati defeated visiting Miami (Ohio) 56-47 on Tuesday.
Cincinnati (4-2) defeated Miami (2-3) for the 13th straight time. The RedHawks haven't defeated the Bearcats since an 82-62 victory Nov. 30, 1991.
Miami's Julian Mavunga scored a game-high 26 points to reach 1,000 in his career. His jumper capped a 10-1 run and cut the lead to 46-45 with 4:52 to play before the Bearcats, who had lost two of their last three games, pulled away.
Mbodj hit two 3-pointers and Sean Kilpatrick added another as Cincinnati took a 54-47 lead with 1:30 to play.
Cincinnati scored the game's first eight points and built a 12-point lead, but Miami cut the deficit to 23-22 at halftime.
Kilpatrick, Dixon Dixon and Yancy Gates scored 10 points apiece for the Bearcats.
