Marcus Morris led the way with 21 points and eight rebounds as No. 2 Kansas overcame 25 turnovers to top No. 24 Missouri, 70-66, in Columbia, Mo., on Saturday.

Thomas Robinson added 15 points and 14 boards for the Jayhawks (29-2, 14-2 Big 12), who locked up their seventh straight Big 12 regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. Kansas gets a first-round bye in the Big 12 Championship and will start on Thursday, taking on the winner of Wednesday’s Nebraska-Oklahoma State game.

The Jayhawks used a dominating defensive effort on Saturday, holding one of the highest-scoring teams in the nation to just 29 percent shooting, including 3 of 23 from 3-point range. Kansas built the lead up to as much as 63-48 on Robinson’s tip-in with 3:55 before the Tigers made a push, using an 11-0 run over the next two minutes to cut it to 63-59.

But the Jayhawks called a timeout and regrouped, getting a 3-pointer from Tyrel Reed to help hold off the threat.

Laurence Bowers recorded 22 points and 10 rebounds for Missouri (22-9, 8-8), which lost for the first time this season at home. The Tigers will start the Big 12 Championship with a first-round game against Texas Tech on Wednesday.
