Green was 5 for 5 from 3-point range and keyed a late Stanford run with seven points in just over a minute as the Cardinal put the game away at the line in the closing minutes.

Stanford led by as many as 19 points, but Washington State (16-8, 6-6 Pac-10) closed the gap to one point before running out of gas.

The Cardinal (13-10, 6-6 Pac-10) raced out to an 8-0 lead and never trailed. They shot 60 percent from the field in the first half en route to a 45-28 lead.

Washington State went on an extended run in the second half and closed the gap to 56-55 on a pair of free throws by Brock Motum with 8:38 left to play.

But Stanford again opened it up as Anthony Brown sank a short jumper to begin a 6-0 run, and the Cougars never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
