No. 25 North Carolina needed a second-half rally to come from behind and knock off College of Charleston 74-69, Sunday in Chapel Hill, N.C.
It was the second win in a row for the Tar Heels (4-2), after dropping back-to-back games in the Maui Classic. But it was anything but easy.
Charleston led for much of the second half, before John Henson sparked a UNC run. Henson led the Tar Heels with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
Andrew Goudelock had a game-high 28 points for the Cougars (4-2), who hung tough throughout the contest despite shooting just 37 percent from the field. Charleston upset North Carolina last season, but couldn't come up with a late surge for a repeat performance.
North Carolina takes a step up in competition, when it travels to No. 19 Illinois Tuesday. Charleston will look to rebound at home against Davidson Thursday.
