Heat 105, Magic 93: Dwyane Wade collected 21 points and 10 assists in 23 minutes as Miami closed out the regular season with its eighth straight victory.

Wade, Udonis Haslem and Shane Battier each returned to action while LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers got one more day of rest prior to the start of the playoffs. Mike Miller scored 21 points and Rashard Lewis added 16 for the Heat, who finish with the best record in the NBA at 66-16.

Nikola Vucevic recorded 20 points and 13 rebounds and Beno Udrih chipped in 13 points and 14 assists as the Magic dropped their third in a row to finish with the NBA’s worst record at 20-62.

Orlando was within 74-71 with under three minutes left in the third quarter before Miami began to pull away. Ray Allen scored five points during an 11-3 run closing the period and the Heat pushed it out to 98-80 on Miller’s 3-pointer with 5:26 left before cruising to the finish.

Wade did most of his damage with 17 points in the first half to help Miami grab a 55-47 lead at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tobias Harris added 19 points and eight rebounds and all five starters scored in double figures for the Magic. … Orlando entered the night tied for the worst record with the Charlotte Bobcats, who closed out their season with a home win over Cleveland to leave the Magic alone in the basement. … Miller went 6-for-9 from 3-point range and the Heat shot 12-for-29 from beyond the arc in the contest.
