Knicks 109, Warriors 105: Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points as host New York overcame a record performance from Stephen Curry to edge Golden State.

Curry scored a career-high 54 points and hit a franchise-record 11 3-pointers to go along with seven assists. The star guard played all 48 minutes and went 18-for-28 from the field, including 11-for-13 from beyond the arc, to lead a Warriors squad that was without All-Star David Lee due to a one-game suspension.

J.R. Smith scored 26 points off the bench and Tyson Chandler collected 16 points and a career-high 28 rebounds for the Knicks, who have won back-to-back games on the heels of a four-game slide.

Curry’s franchise record-breaking 10th 3-pointer on a fast-break pull-up with 4:41 left gave Golden State a 100-99 lead. That began a run of 3-pointers, with Smith responding and Curry knocking down another before Anthony’s long-range shot with three minutes to play gave New York a 105-103 advantage.

Curry tied it with a pair of free throws before Smith gave the Knicks the lead for good with a short jumper. Golden State had a chance to tie it again out of a timeout but Jarrett Jack was called for traveling and Anthony knocked down a shot at the other end to put it away.

Curry scored 27 points in the first half to keep the Warriors within 58-55 at the break. He scored 11 more points in the third to keep it within 84-81 heading into the final period.

Golden State was without Lee and starting center Andrew Bogut (back spasms), which helped New York to a 46-38 advantage on the boards.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Curry is the first player in NBA history with 50-plus points and 10-plus 3-pointers in the same game. His 54 points are the most in the NBA this season, and the most by a visiting player at Madison Square Garden since LeBron James went for 52 back in 2009.
