New Orleans closed the gap thanks to the efforts of Holiday. He scored 10 points in the quarter. Holiday hit back-to-back 3-pointers to cut Utah's lead to 17-15.

The Pelicans couldn't get any closer, and the Jazz eventually created some breathing room behind Korver's hot perimeter shooting. He made four 3-pointers in the first half. His final one, part of a four-point play, sparked a 16-5 run that gave Utah a 58-41 lead.

New Orleans rallied again in the third quarter. The Pelicans cut the deficit to 78-77 after scoring baskets on seven straight possessions, capped by a dunk from Randle. Davis missed a go-ahead layup, though, and 3-pointers from Crowder and Korver on the other end finally put an end to the rally.

The Pelicans didn't give up. Randle sparked a 22-2, fourth-quarter run with back-to-back baskets. New Orleans finished off the run by scoring on six straight possessions, capped by a Randle layup, his fifth baskets during the sequence.
