Hawks 104, Rockets 96: Jeff Teague scored 25 points and dished out six assists as Atlanta erased a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter to rally past visiting Houston.
Al Horford added 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots for the Hawks, who ended the game on a 26-6 run to earn their fifth straight win. Paul Millsap had 16 points and 14 rebounds, Dennis Schroder also tallied 16 points and DeMarre Carroll added 11 for Atlanta, which finished 18-of-21 from the free-throw line.
Jason Terry poured in a season-high 21 points off the bench for the Rockets, who were without James Harden (suspension). Terrence Jones collected 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocks while Josh Smith and Donatas Motiejunas each had 14 points for Houston, which went 4-of-9 from the foul line.
Smith and Pablo Prigioni each drilled a 3-pointer as the Rockets pulled ahead 87-72 before Teague scored five straight points as part of 15-0 run to give Atlanta its first lead of the second half at 93-90. Horford knocked down a jumper to put the Hawks in front 98-96 with 1:46 remaining and they sank six free throws in the final 60 seconds to seal the come-from-behind victory.
Patrick Beverley buried back-to-back 3-pointers during a 16-0 surge as the Rockets sped out to a 31-17 lead and Terry connected from beyond the arc on two straight possessions to put Houston on top 56-39. Jones led all scorers with 14 points in the first half to help the Rockets take a comfortable 59-45 advantage into the break before Schroder later trimmed the deficit to 74-70.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer was assessed his first technical foul of the season for arguing with the officials in the first quarter. … Atlanta SG Kyle Korver passed Steve Smith (549) for fourth place on Atlanta's all-time 3-point list. … Harden was handed a one-game suspension after kicking LeBron James below the belt in the 105-103 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.
