Grizzlies 88, Thunder 84:
Zach Randolph had 28 points and 14 rebounds as visiting Memphis beat top-seeded Oklahoma City for the fourth consecutive contest to win the Western Conference semifinal series 4-1.

Kevin Durant scored 21 points but missed a tying 17-footer with 4.9 seconds remaining before Tony Allen hit two free throws with 3.3 seconds left to clinch the Grizzlies’ first appearance in the conference finals. Mike Conley added 13 points and 11 assists for Memphis, which will face either San Antonio or Golden State in the Western Conference finals.

Durant was a woeful 5-of-21 from the field and committed seven turnovers to end a series in which he badly missed injured running mate Russell Westbrook. Serge Ibaka added 17 points and eight rebounds and Reggie Jackson had 16 points and nine assists.

The fifth-seeded Grizzlies led by as many as 14 in the third quarter but had the advantage trimmed to 64-62 entering the fourth before opening the final quarter with a 12-2 run. Oklahoma City missed eight of its nine field-goal attempts over the first six minutes of the quarter.

Memphis again had a 12-point edge with less than three minutes to go before the Thunder made a ferocious 16-6 charge to pull within two on Jackson’s 3-pointer with 14.3 seconds left. Randolph missed two free throws with 11.3 seconds remaining prior to Durant’s crucial miss.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Memphis held the Thunder to 4-of-19 from the field in the second quarter to take a 50-38 lead into the break.… Durant has scored 20 or more points in 37 consecutive playoff games. … The Grizzlies were 25-of-29 from the free-throw line, but three of the misses – all by Randolph – came in the final 19.4 seconds.
