Suns 84, Timberwolves 83 (OT): Marcin Gortat forced overtime with a basket in the closing seconds of regulation and host Phoenix held on to snap a four-game home losing streak.

Gortat, Markieff Morris and Wesley Johnson led the Suns with 14 points apiece. Three others had 10 for Phoenix, which made just 5-of-14 free throws.

Derrick Williams led Minnesota with 21 points. Nikola Pekovic scored 18 and J.J. Barea scored 12 of his 16 in the fourth quarter and overtime, including a layup with 61 seconds left in the game that cut the Timberwolves' deficit to 82-80.

Gortat answered with a layup before Williams made a 3-pointer with 30 seconds left to make it 84-83. Pekovic blocked a shot on the other end, giving Minnesota one last chance, but Alexey Shved missed a layup with 1.3 ticks remaining.

Barea's fourth-quarter outburst helped the Timberwolves rally from 12 points down to take a 77-75 lead with 25 seconds left. Gortat scored on a pick-and-roll with Goran Dragic to tie it with 13.6 ticks remaining and Minnesota's Ricky Rubio air-balled a jumper before the buzzer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Morris has fouled out in consecutive games. ... The Suns' largest lead was 47-29 on a Dragic 3-pointer late in the first half. ... Williams, who entered as a career 71.2 percent free-throw shooter, was 3-for-10 from the line.
