Spurs 104, Nets 73:
Tony Parker had 20 points to lead six players in double figures as host San Antonio handed Brooklyn its first loss under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo.

Tim Duncan scored 15 points, Nando de Colo added 11 and Tiago Splitter, Kawhi Leonard and Matt Bonner poured in 10 apiece for the Spurs, who have won six straight.

After securing two straight wins against Eastern Conference bottom-dwellers Charlotte and Cleveland, Carlesimo and company took a big step up in competition against San Antonio. The Nets responded by shooting 37.8 percent and were outscored 30-5 in the third quarter as the Spurs took control.

Brooklyn trailed 55-47 at the half and missed its first five shots of the third quarter as San Antonio stretched it out to 63-47. Deron Williams ended the drought with a jumper, but the Nets would only make one more field goal in the rest of the quarter as the Spurs seized an 85-52 advantage.

MarShon Brooks scored a season-high 16 points off the bench and Joe Johnson led the starters with 12 points for Brooklyn.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Things don’t get much easier for the Nets, who travel to Oklahoma City on Wednesday. … Brooklyn committed seven of its 18 turnovers in the third quarter. … San Antonio scored 56 points in the paint and shot 58.9 percent from the field.
