NETS 83, BOBCATS 74: Deron Williams could not match his last performance against Charlotte, but Kris Humphries picked up the slack with 20 points and 15 rebounds as New Jersey secured back-to-back wins for the first time since the end of January.

Williams, who scored a career-high and franchise-record 57 points in a win over the Bobcats on Sunday, was forced out in the second quarter Friday due to a mild calf injury. He managed seven points on 3-of-8 shooting before exiting.

Jordan Farmar, whose last-second 3-pointer gave the Nets a win over the Clippers on Wednesday, took over at the point and finished with 11 points and seven assists. Anthony Morrow scored all 17 of his points in the final quarter.

New Jersey bridged the third and fourth quarters with a 13-0 run to take control. Morrow scored the first eight points of the fourth to make it 68-59 with 7:24 remaining.

The Bobcats cut the deficit to two, but Farmar completed a three-point play and Morrow buried a 3-pointer with 1:14 left to keep the Nets clear.

Corey Maggette scored 19 points and rookie Bismack Biyombo collected 11 points and 11 rebounds as the only other player in double figures for Charlotte.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
New Jersey had not held a team below 80 points prior to Friday … The Bobcats’ guard trio of Kemba Walker, D.J. Augustin and Gerald Henderson combined to shoot 5 for 26 (19 percent) … The Nets dominated the boards, 56-43.
