HEAT 89, HAWKS 86: LeBron James recorded 31 points and 11 rebounds and Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh came through when it mattered as host Miami picked up its second straight win and halted Atlanta’s winning streak at three games.

Wade finished with 18 points on 7 of 17 shooting as the only other player in double figures for the Heat, who will face potential playoff opponents in each of their next five games.

Miami led 77-71 after James’ layup with 7:28 left but went 4:27 without scoring as Atlanta re-took the lead. Jeff Teague scored six straight points to tie it and assisted on Josh Smith’s 3-pointer that gave the Hawks an 80-77 edge at the 3:29 mark.

Bosh, who finished 3 for 14 from the field, saved two of his baskets for an 8-1 burst that put Miami back in control. Wade added a jumper and assisted on three straight buckets in the final 1:07 before sealing it with a pair of free throws.

Jannero Pargo missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer for Atlanta, who was once again without All-Star guard Joe Johnson due to a knee injury.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wade and Bosh combined to shoot 2 for 13 in the first half. … Smith led Atlanta with 23 points and is averaging 26.0 points over his last four games. … The Hawks have four stops remaining on their six-game road trip.
