Jason Terry scored 25 points and Tyson Chandler hit the go-ahead basket as the Dallas Mavericks defeated the host Washington Wizards 105-99 on Saturday.
Chandler had 23 points and 13 rebounds and Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points for Dallas (42-16), which won its fifth straight game. Shawn Marion added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
John Wall scored 24 points for Washington (15-43), which lost its fifth straight.
The Mavericks led 97-89 on Chandler’s basket with 3:19 to go but Washington rallied to tie the score. Wall scored six straight points and Jordan Crawford hit a 19-footer to even things.
Chandler followed with a layup with 1:16 left to put Dallas ahead to stay.
The Mavericks led by 13 points late in the first half but Wall’s 35-foot, buzzer-beating 3-pointer to end the half started a string of 12 straight Washington points. JaVale McGee’s dunk pulled the Wizards within 59-58 with 8:33 left in the third.
Nick Young scored 14 points and Rashard Lewis added 13 points for the Wizards.
