Wade Miley went seven scoreless innings and Jeremy Jeffress earned his fourth save as the visiting Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Miley's mastery of Dodger Stadium continued as the left-hander improved to 4-0 in seven career starts at the venue and lowered his ERA to 2.06 there. He gave up just two hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

The Brewers collected their only run in the third inning. Christian Yelich beat out an infield single with two outs and Lorenzo Cain ripped an RBI double to right field against Dodgers starter Walker Buehler.

Cain also helped Miley's cause on defense in the seventh inning when he robed Cody Bellinger of a home run to deep center field. It was the last out Miley (2-1) recorded in his outing.

The Dodgers defense prevented a second Brewers run in the third inning. Mike Moustakas singled on a slow roller that was knocked down in short center field by Dodgers second baseman Enrique Hernandez. Cain tried to score from second on the play, but Hernandez fired home to catcher Austin Barnes, who made the tag.

The Dodgers only had singles from Yasiel Puig and Austin Barnes against Miley. Hernandez was robbed of a hit in the second inning on a diving play at third by Moustakas.

Buehler (4-4) allowed one run on five hits in seven innings. He walked none and struck out seven.

The Brewers have won each of the first two games in the four-game series at Dodger Stadium. In five games between the playoff contenders, all since the All-Star break, the Brewers have won three.

Earlier in the day, the Dodgers added infielder Brian Dozier and reliever John Axford via trade. The Brewers added infielder Jonathan Schoop. Dozier arrived in the eighth inning and was available off the bench but did not play. Axford and Schoop are expected to be activated Wednesday.

The Dodgers lost for the third consecutive time after winning six of the first nine games of the second half, all on the road.

The Brewers won for the fifth time in the first six games of their West Coast trip that also included a four-game stop in San Francisco. Milwaukee is 8-3 since ending their seven-game losing streak on July 20.

Manny Machado went 0-for-3 in his second home game with the Dodgers. He is 14-for-49 since joining the Los Angeles roster in a trade from the Baltimore Orioles.
