Joey Gallo and Ryan Rua homered, and Bartolo Colon picked up his 245th career win as the surging Texas Rangers knocked off the Chicago White Sox 13-4 Saturday at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas.
Colon surrendered three runs on seven hits in a five-inning start. He struck out two and walked two for the Rangers, who have won three in a row and 11 of their past 13.
Matt Davidson and Avisail Garcia hit solo home runs in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, cutting the Rangers' lead to 5-4.
Texas pulled away with a seven-run eighth inning, highlighted by a two-run double from Jurickson Profar and a two-run triple from Elvis Andrus.
The Rangers, who also had a seven-run inning in their Friday win over the White Sox, have outscored Chicago 24-7 in the first two games of the series.
Adam Engel and Yolmer Sanchez drove in runs in the second inning to give the White Sox an early 2-0 lead.
Gallo cut the deficit in half with his 20th home run of the season in the third inning, and Robinson Chirinos cleared the bases in the fourth inning with a ringing double to right field that gave the Rangers the lead at 4-2. Chirinos has had an extra-base hit in six straight games.
Rua was ejected in the seventh inning after a brief discussion with plate umpire Joe West.
Chicago starter Carlos Rodon gave up five runs on six hits. He struck out three and walked two in 5 1/3 innings.
Texas' Shin-Soo Choo, who has reached base in 41 consecutive games, was not in the lineup due to a sore right quad. The 41-game run is the longest such streak in the majors this season.
Reynaldo Lopez is slated to start for the White Sox in the series finale Sunday. The Rangers will counter with Cole Hamels.
