Mets 5, Phillies 4 (14): David Wright ripped an RBI single with two outs in the 14th as visiting New York rebounded after squandering a four-run lead and avenged Friday's 14-inning loss to Philadelphia.

Phillies reliever Jeff Manship struck out six batters while retiring the side in each of his four innings before suffering a quad strain attempting to leg out a base hit in the 13th. The injury proved costly as Antonio Bastardo (3-3) promptly issued a lead-off walk to Ruben Tejada, who advanced to second on Juan Lagares' sacrifice bunt. Three batters later, Wright lined a 1-1 fastball into left field and Tejada beat Domonic Brown's off-target throw home.

Buddy Carlyle (1-0), recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas prior to the game, scattered two hits over three scoreless innings in his first appearance in the majors since 2011 with the New York Yankees. Carlos Torres, who worked 2 2/3 innings in Friday's marathon, allowed his first two batters to reach base in the 14th before striking out a pair for his second save.

Tejada belted a rare homer and drove in two to highlight his three-hit performance for the Mets, who posted their fourth win in five outings. Rookie Jacob deGrom settled for a no-decision despite striking out a career-best 11 in 6 1/3 innings and former Phillie Bobby Abreu ripped a two-out RBI single among his two hits.

With his team trailing 4-0, Ryan Howard ignited the rally in the seventh by depositing a hanging slider from deGrom over the left-center field wall for a three-run homer. The blast allowed Howard to reach the 1,000-RBI plateau while Brown slapped an RBI single to left-center field in the ninth to plate former Met Marlon Byrd to forge a tie.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Tejada's third career homer was his first since going deep off San Francisco's Matt Cain on Aug. 1, 2012. He also recorded his first three-hit game since Oct. 3, 2012. ... New York CF Chris Young received the start as Lagares was scratched with a right ribcage spasm mere moments before the game. Young led off the contest with a single to left field before finishing 1-for-6 while Lagares was summoned for pinch-hit duties in the 14th inning. ... Mets LF Curtis Granderson ripped a single up the middle in the eighth inning, snapping an 0-for-22 stretch. Had he made an out, Granderson would have set an MLB record by working at least one walk without recording a hit for the eighth consecutive contest.
