Yankees 10, Blue Jays 7:
Nick Swisher's grand slam capped a seven-run fourth inning and Ichiro Suzuki had two hits and three RBIs as New York finished a three-game sweep of visiting Toronto to extend its American League East lead to a full game over Baltimore.

Derek Jeter added two hits and two RBIs for the Yankees, who have won five straight and seven of eight. Jeter extended his hitting streak to 14 games, the longest active streak in the majors.

Yankees starter Phil Hughes (16-12) wasn't his sharpest, lasting just five innings and allowing four runs on four hits with three walks and nine strikeouts. But New York provided plenty of offensive support to help him win his third straight start. David Robertson struck out the side in a perfect ninth for his second save, as Rafael Soriano was unavailable after closing both games of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Most of the damage came in the fourth, when the Yankees chased starter Aaron Laffey (3-6) before he could record an out. Suzuki's two-run double marked the end for Laffey, and Swisher launched his seventh career grand slam - and his third of the season - to right-center field to cap the uprising.

Moises Sierra had a homer and three RBIs and Kelly Johnson added a solo homer and an RBI double for Toronto, which lost for the seventh time in nine games to drop a season-worst 16 games below .500.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hughes recorded four strikeouts in the fourth inning, joining A.J. Burnett as the only Yankees pitchers to do so. … The Yankees have 10 grand slams this season, matching the franchise record from 1987, 2010 and 2011. … Suzuki had hits in seven straight plate appearances before grounding out in the fifth, the first Yankees player to do so since Jorge Posada in 2007.
