Rookie Michael Pineda allowed two hits over seven innings and the visiting Seattle Mariners won their fourth straight, 4-0 over the San Diego Padres on Saturday.

Pineda (6-2) tied a season high with nine strikeouts and has gone at least seven innings in eight straight games.

The Mariners took a 2-0 lead in the second on Mike Wilson’s RBI single and Jack Wilson’s sacrifice fly off Clayton Richard (2-5), who allowed three runs on seven hits over five innings. Mike Wilson added an RBI double in the fourth.

San Diego, which was shut out for the ninth time in 46 games, has been outscored 103-58 at home this season.

The Nos. 6-8 hitters in the Mariners’ lineup are 10-for-20 with six runs scored and seven RBIs in the first two games of the series.
