The Brewers took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning on home runs by Fielder and Brandon Boggs.

A fifth-inning sacrifice fly by Jose Tabata cut the margin in half, but Milwaukee broke the game open with five runs in the seventh inning against Daniel McCutchen (1-1) and Joe Beimel. Casey McGehee's two-run double highlighted the assault, while Fielder and Jonathan Lucroy each singled home a run.
